Extraordinary CCTV footage from Narathiwat in the far south of Thailand showed the moment that a buffalo terrified motorists at a red light. 

 

Several motorcyclists saw trouble coming and raced to safety, some going the wrong way back from whence they came. 

 

One motorcycle was abandoned on its stand and was unceremoniously "gored" by the rampaging "khwai" as they are called in Thai. 

 

It resembled more a scene from the bull run in Pamplona in northern Spain than the south of Thailand. 

 

Sanook reported that the owner apologized after the buffalo got out of its enclosure. Restitution had been made with the motorcyclist whose vehicle was damaged.

Buffalos can take the mud out of you. As the same thing happen to me. I was parked on the side of the road looking at the mountain's and having a break riding to Chiang Rai when I saw a buffalo running at full speed towards my bike which was new at the time. I stood in front of my new bike with my eyes closed and the buffalo ran right passed me. It would have been a quick ending for me and I would have had a few dents in my new bike as well.

I'll give credit where credit is due... Thais certainly know how to scatter.

I like the idea of the red ring around the Buffalo just to make sure you can distinguish it from all else.
