Popular Post webfact Posted July 23, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 23, 2021 Picture: INN INN reported that former top cop Lt-Gen Surachate Hakpan was helping the "Back Home" initiative with five vans running people back home to the south for Covid treatment. The famous policeman who fell from grace and is now an advisor at RTP HQ is from the southern province of Songkhla, notes ASEAN NOW. The Back Home project helps those looking for hospital beds in their home provinces and is a collaboration of a well known Thai TV program and several online groups. Now the man known by his moniker of Big Joke has arranged for the transportation with PPE equipment for the drivers and special screens between them and those infected in the rear. Picture: INN He said he couldn't sit by while his compatriots in the south needed help even if it was just one person. He said there were plenty of beds up-country. Surachate was the head of the Immigration Bureau and deputy at the tourist police before his still unexplained downfall to a PM's office post in 2019. He was later given an advisory role at the HQ in Pathumwan, Bangkok. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-07-23 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 3 1

mtls2005 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Ah yes, the south, the home of Martial Law since 2004. Maybe put Big Joke in charge of the peace process down there? I think he's from one of the four restive southern provinces?
SooKee Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 What, nobody pointing at the van? No pictorial backdrop with Gestapo 'commandos' in full SWAT gear? Slipping?
klauskunkel Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Is that face mask part of the Big Joke police uniform fashion line?
Popular Post Caldera Posted July 23, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 23, 2021 This is a profoundly stupid idea, even by local standards. Bangkok to Songkhla stuck in a van, while being infected with Covid-19. Sounds like a hellish trip to me. I once took a van in the opposite direction and it was bad enough without being sick. Plenty of beds upcountry? For how much longer, if they actively spread it around like this? The van driver in PPE, for about 13 hours? A screen in between? How about the ventilation system? Mind-boggling nonsense any way you look at it. 3
CMHomeboy78 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Big Joke's star turn at CM Immigration a while back was a notable success. The usual crowded, disorganized, and stressful conditions disappeared after he arrived. Efficiency and courtesy prevailed until he was removed and the status quo returned. This daft idea of moving infected people around the country in vans, if it is indeed his, sounds like a publicity stunt to keep him in the news.

connda Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 "Big Joke" to the rescue helping southerners get home for Covid-19 treatment. Really? How about - "Big Joke" facilitates the government in sending Covid infected Thais to upcountry provinces to infect the uninfected to spread the regional pandemic and infect the entire nation. Let's call it what it is. 1

Let's call it what it is. Here's the historical equivalent. The US Army sending smallpox infected blanket to the native Indians on their newly established reservation in order to make sure they were 'warm' during the winter. But but but - that's fake. Of course it is. Condolences to all the dead native Americans. The victors write history.
