The numbers thus far do not show the Phetchabun Chicken processing plants cluster of cases. One has to wonder when and if they will appear.  I would also like to see a further follow-up on the cases and the surrounding villages that are closed.  A breakdown of the workers nationalities and how they are being treated and cared for.

Anutin defends Thailand’s decision not to join Covax initially

In a move to explain why Thailand did not join the Covid-19 Vaccines Global Access (Covax) alliance initially, Public Health Minister said the government had made the right decision.

Since February, he said, Thailand has purchased 27 million doses directly from manufacturers, not including the 3.5 million doses delivered in donations. In comparison, Covax members have only been given an average of a million doses, he said.

  1. A risky career, meeting a lot of people, 47 cases

This one keeps going up!   Was 27 of these kind of cases yesterday.   The odds of catching covid for those farangs that are continuing to enjoy the services of girls must be getting shorter every single day in Pattaya - unless of course they are quick enough to only need less than a fleeting encounter with them.

This has nothing to do with bargirls, it’s about taxi drivers or people who work in markets.

Of those 27 million, the majority are of the Sinovac vaccine.  What kind of hold and sway does China have over this country is the next question Anutin should answer as far as why they have dealt primarily with them instead of joining Covax and ordering from the MRNA vaccine makers.

Thai government to consider opening restaurants in malls and department stores for online delivery in maximum control zone provinces

Bangkok –

The Ministry of Public Health has proposed to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to consider the reopening of restaurants in department stores for online delivery purposes under strict preventive measures.

Deputy government spokeswoman Traisulee Traisoranakul said on Monday, July 26th, that the Public Health Ministry had come up with measures for reopening restaurants in shopping malls for delivery in the dark-red zone provinces, which includes Chonburi. They will be presented to the CCSA for further consideration in an upcoming meeting.

Now you're just trolling...

Hospital beds for critically ill patients are NOT the same as field hospital beds or even regular hospital beds for those with mild symptoms. Totally different kind of facilities and totally different kind of care. They're not interchangeable.

Thailand's available supply of critical care beds, as anyone with any common sense would understand, is much smaller than the total larger supply of general hospital beds, or even the quasi-hospital field hospital beds.

But, FWIW, in the BKK region right now, even the field hospital and general hospital beds are close to their maximum capacities, even as authorities are rushing to add more beds capacity. And they've begun isolating COVID asymptomatic positive cases at home instead of in hospitals, because they simply don't have enough beds for them all.

So explain to me just a few posts ago you stated hospitals are over ran by critically sick, you stated government does not force anyone with mild syndromes into hospitals and now you stating field hospitals are for mildly sick and running out of beds

So which one is it? and which one of us is trolling?

Number of infected risen 15 times, number of critical doubled, as per your own statistics

Just because government is incapable of efficiently and effectively deal with the problem, it does not make problem itself all that dramatic. Way of dealing with it, makes it more dramatic.

Any study on this planet with 97% success is a winner, yet for some unknown reason you clinched on to 3% and turning it into some drama

Yes Covid is here, its a fact, yes it CAN kill you, does not mean it will and must kill you.

Numbers are going up on daily basis, but ratios remain the same and by your own admission 60% -80%do not require any medical attention at all 16% or so percent have mild symptoms and perhaps require some some treatment.

And , yes, no doubt growing number of critically sick is increasing, as number of tested positive increasing, but it is not as dramatic as you trying so hard make it sound as if all 15000 cases per day are hospitalised.

Let's hope so.  It makes no sense that restaurants in malls cannot do deliveries or take-out.

Phetchabun only showing 132 cases as the graphics show.  That in itself tells us that the Chicken processing plant 3k+ cases have not been added as of yet.  On top of that it appears there has been almost a doubling of cases in Udon THani.  The northern provinces (Issan) seem to be having cases increasing, and it could be indicative of either those who fled the dark red provinces or that they finally have started to see the Delta variant arrive.  Reality is setting in that we are in for the long haul and that the vaccine program this government said they were starting in February and had hoped to have the majority of the population vaccinated by December is a shambolic mess.

I found that kind of strange as well, but the ones that were outside on the StreetSide could be open for delivery and takeaway.

BP reported last night that 6,587 of the workers had been tested.  The remaining 613 workers were tested yesterday morning.

I wouldn't be surprised if those 1,000+ that tested positive be included in tomorrow's count.

The malls are open so people can shop at the supermarkets.  In most malls, the supermarket is on the same floor or location as all the restaurants, and it's these restaurants that have been unable to open for deliveries and takeout.  There's a far wider choice of food from restaurants in malls (in central Bangkok anyway).

The implication is that the true figure for Covid deaths is much higher than officially stated. The reason for that implication is that the only factor differentiating May and June this year and the same months in the previous 5 years, is that this year Covid is present.

6000 above average is much higher, though considering excess deaths were above average by around 8% in January before covid, if the real figure is closer to 3000 that's not much higher imo. Won't take long to find out, any difference from reported numbers will become readily apparent as the rate increases. What it does suggest, is that suggestions real mortality numbers are 10x higher or more are almost certainly wrong.

I live in Bangkok and can get along without needing food from malls.

In fact would not use them if they were open as plenty better alternatives.

Good time to support the street vendors and the zillion of small restaurants.
