I was fortunate enough to be young in the sixties and went on the hippie trail to India twice, once from Australia and then a return trip a year later, I also visited, stayed with "pen friends" that I made before my trip and new friends that I made during the first visit.

On the motorway from Bangkok to Chonburi there is a big pit stop, there is an Indian restaurant there that sold lassie.

Must have been great then, sure you have great stories!

I love talking to India travellers, interesting people. A good friend of mine who just left Khon Kaen used to take dope back to UK from there. He was caught and fled the country in the early 70s, he's just returned!

I used to buy lassie in Bangkok, down Silom near the Wat Kaek.

In Bangkok there is the Indian Hut restaurant, took some Thai people there I worked with some 15 years ago, unfortunately despite coming from a duck producing company they didn't like the food.
For me it was excellent.
