I have experienced -50C before, just impossible to work outdoor. With the right shelter you could sit in your pajamas and explore the night sky. ???? This is the most amazing thing I have seen in these pages. 18 hours of exposure. It's not so easy to do this. You must have found a place where you had both dark sky and clear sky, maybe. Maybe you captured these images from some other desert? Just a guess. Also, if I were not to go to Ellesmere Island, then, the best place to see stars is far out to sea. Once you get to the middle of the Pacific, the stars are amazing. Traveling from Saudi Arabia to the Strait of Malacca, during the voyage, mostly all you do see is stars, right down to the horizon. So, probably, now that I think of it, being at sea is really where I would choose to be. Amazing images.

They said it was one of the scariest places they had ever been. And American desperados pay 26,000 baht for an hour of that. What can one even say? I spent 2 weeks as a Mustangs regular in the 80's. It was Hot Babe City. Why have they allowed it to devolve? Bloody shame.
Popular Post riclag
Lived on and off the Island of Aruba for 7 years ! Had a beautiful Caribbean style house ! I often think of visiting it again! The island is 20 or so miles long by 8 or so miles wide ! Average daytime temp 82F ! Nights 75F. All the beaches are public, even at the resorts ! Life was a beach and it was 5 pm all day ! OMG !Those beaches of white sand and turquoise waters ,were to die for. ! When I'm ready to soil the bed and I'm conscious ,this is what I'll be thinking of,my Aruba ! I could go on and on. In 2005 I had to retire for medical reasons. I travelled extensively in North America for work, but had never been out of it. I asked two friends that had completely different jobs, but one thing in common, they took every opportunity to travel. One told me St Lucia, the other said Thailand. I chose Thailand but often wish I had at least gone to see St. Lucia. Great photos.

Popular Post ballpoint
Right where I am. I've carved out my own little bit of paradise here, and I'm quite happy to stay in it. In fact, I was just laying back by the pool today, the grandson and friends were splashing about, the smell of good food cooking wafted over from the kitchen, music was playing in the background, and a light breeze was taking the edge off the sun and gently moving the palm trees about, and I think(ed) to myself, what a wonderful world. This is why the trade is called the Meat Market. When I get to Ellesmere Island, aboard my magic carpet, I will land in a pristine place, pristine in body and mind. I will not peer at women. Instead, I will peer at heavenly bodies using my small telescope. I know that I will never actually GET to Ellesmere. Just a dream. The reason I will never get there is because, I do not see the point in going there. It's only a fantasy. Sometimes, adults must distinguish between fantasy and reality. Still, it is the dream that keeps us alive, maybe. And, maybe it is self-restraint which protects us from eating too much sugar. Sugar. Ah, honey, honey. That's very impressive! But just to comment, the impressive part is more down to your friend's skills at computer imaging and editing, because that picture is using simulated/false colours to make it look impressive, (and there is nothing wrong with that at all!). I do similar things with data from geo-stationary weather satellites. The data that I receive from the satellite typically looks like this: but after computer editing, it looks like this:
