PHUKET: Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew this morning vowed to bring justice for the killing of Swiss tourist Nicole Sauvain-Weisskopf, whose body was found near the Ao Yon Waterfall on Phuket’s east coast yesterday afternoon.

Thai Civil Court issues injunction against PM’s decree banning fake news with censorship threat

On Friday, Thailand’s Civil Court issued an injunction to suspend Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s ban on dissemination of fake and distorted news and fearmongering, with a threat of Internet censorship if violations are found, saying such an order is unlawful and restrictive in terms of rights and freedoms.

Food supply reduced amid COVID spread at processing plants

 

 

Food supplies at markets and supermarkets are reducing amid partial closures and subsequent reduced production capacity at almost 100 food processing plants nationwide, following the spread of COVID-19 among their workers. Two nasal spray COVID-19 vaccines under development by Thailand’s BIOTEC

Thai virologists, at the National Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), have been developing two candidate nasal spray vaccines, or vaccine inhalers, which they hope will provide an option in the prevention of COVID-19 infection, not just prevent severe symptoms.

Thousands of police mobilised to handle protesters in Bangkok on Saturday

Record 670,834 vaccinations given on August 5th in Thailand
