New Bioplastic Plant to Be Built in Nakhon Sawan

BANGKOK, Aug 10 (TNA) – GC International Corporation, a subsidiary of PTT Global Chemical Pcl, and Cargill Incorporated announced to build a bioplastic factory worth 20 billion baht in Nakhon Sawan province to support bio-circular-green (BCG) economy.

 

The new plant will be constructed in the Nakhon Sawan Biocomplex and was scheduled to begin operation in 2024 to meet global demand for sustainable material.

 

The new factory will produce polylactic acid (PLA) by the trademark of Ingeo™. It is biodegradable bioplastic, has a low carbon footprint and can be used as a raw material for the production of food packages, diapers and household appliances among others.

They will need raw material to feed the plant which implies the use of sugar cane with convoys of overladen trucks and choking smoke from burning fields. Repeat for maize alternative.......????
