What  recoveries means here in Thailand most likely is you still test positive with either no symptoms or mild symptoms and can fully recover at home, but if you are still Covid positive you CAN still spread it. In the USA if you tested positive at hospital but you had no symptoms or mild ones you would be sent home and told to Quarantine for 14 days. I know because it happened to my 30 year old son. Its another misleading statement when they say people released recovered.

Unlikely, if that was the definition of the recovered cases... then there would not be 210,042 active cases officially in Thailand (a little more than 25% of the entire total).  Even if they don't have followup tests, 'quarantine' would still be considered active cases.

Think your missing the point.  My GF's daughter, 7 years old was sent home from the hospital still sick, but not needing treatment except for the Favipirvar and the paracetamol.  She was to isolate for 14 days at the end she was to be retested and then also given a chest x-ray to ensure she had cleared.  She was not discharged as being healthy nor given a medical certificate they give you when they truly discharge you from care.

That’s exactly right  Her treatment  is not over, she is on meds and has further tests to come Let’s see after she is given the all clear and discharged officially. As this point she is still under treatment and should not feature in the discharged as re covered stats. IMO. Wish her well.

With the MOPH numbers of infected being some 23,782, combined with the ATK tests that are 3,673 that makes a total of some 27,455 cases.

This means the Virus is actually gaining momentum from about 1 week ago when on the path I predicted then from its previous 2 week path 30,000 cases would be reached by 16th August.

It looks very much at this stage the number of 30,000 is going to breach sooner than the 16 th which means an Infection increase.

And another thing. If over 22,000 are being released each day, we assume they are being given a PCR test to confirm they are now negative. If - big IF - these figures were included and they were all negative, then it could mean only around 30,000 new people being tested, which would mean an even greater positivity rate of over 70%. Doubtful, but as always, the maths doesn't really add up when people ask questions.

Do you really think 22,000 people in the hospital all went from positive to negative in one day. They are being examined and released Covid positive if they have no Symptoms or mild symptoms. I am sure they are still being told to quarantine

It should still be considered active if you were sent home from hospital but are still testing positive with mild symptoms. Full recovery is a negative test with no Symptoms. Think about it

Most cases today are again in #Bangkok (4,856), followed by Samut Sakhon (1,779), Chonburi (1,739), Samut Prakan (1,736), Nonthaburi (729), Sisaket (623), Nakhon Pathom (621), and Ubon (526) * Numbers include inmates #COVID19 #โควิด19 #โควิดวันนี้ #Thailand

The number of Covid cases exported from the deep dark scary red areas to ISSAN is large.

Kind of skews the deep dark scary red figures.

Also from the main story "Thailand on Thursday (August 12) reported 22,782 new COVID-19 cases and 147 additional deaths over the past 24 hours.

● 22,407 new infections

● 375 prison / prison infections"

This is misleading as it does not include the rapid antigen test results which are considerable - with these added the number is more like 26k which is

1. Growing

2. Exceeds recoveries

Am I missing something?

Channel 32 news is reporting now on a Medic who just received a Pfizer booster vaccination being found deceased at home.  He apparently had the booster yesterday the 10th.  His 2 previous vaccines were of Sinovac. Sad.

In Finland all infected people are in home isolation first! If you dont have symptons, after 10 days you not isolated anymore and they NOT TEST YOU OTHER TIME! You not spread virus anymore so why use test again! Only family members are isolated 14 days and tested 2 times! If you get symptoms you call ambulance which take you to hospital! Yesterday in Finland 83 covid patient in hospital and from those 19 in icu!

Are they suggesting the vaccine was responsible?

They are indicating it was a possibility and that the vaccine might have not been compatible, but that's just the doctor they spoke with.  All speculation of course, but a news story none the less.

Similar in the UK, 10 days after testing positive or symptoms showing or once fever has gone if longer than 10 days you are deemed non infectious and are freed from quarantine period.

All 5 of the foreigner deaths reported today were from Myanmar.

11% or 16 of the day's deaths were neither elderly (60+) nor had any chronic medical conditions.
