Thailand
A divisional officer back in the day put on my record that I was a typical coffee bar type after I said I much preferred the Stones to the Beatles! RIP Charlie, much loved.

Popular Post meechai
Yes RIP Charlie! I was just laughing at this pic back in July on Micks birthday someone said I like how there’s just one guy in the Rolling Stones that dresses like a regular 77 year-old man Edited August 25, 2021 by meechai
HeijoshinCool
. The perfect counterpoint to Mick's demonstrative behavior.... When I watched them perform, my eyes were always on Charlie.
Thujone
I felt a sense of shock when I read this. Not Charlie Watts! I'm sure he wouldn't want to rest in peace. I hope he's gone somewhere loud with a good beat. (If he's gone anywhere...)

clivebaxter
Decent bloke and average drummer, but legend and genius (Daily Mail) hardly. Always seems to be instant sainthood when celebrities, especially musicians die. Kudos for being loyal to his Mrs, but that is what you are supposed to do.
transam
This news instantly took me back near 60 years, to my old 45rpm player, which had one speaker no bigger than a saucer, that was turned on when I got home from school to play my latest Stones 45, think it was this....RIP Charlie......

Radar501
This topic is SOOOOOO related to Thailand. Walk past any art shop in Pattaya or Phuket, and the likelihood is that you will see the very wrinkled characterchers of The Stones depicted on canvass hanging on a wall.
Popular Post GinBoy2
The horrible thought is that for most of the demographic on here we grew up with The Stones. As these folks die we see our own mortality. I'd suggest that most of us are a few years behind, but damn I bet most of us wished we'd had the life he'd lived. RIP

It's typical of the way deaths of the famous are treated in the media these days, unrealistically.
rcuthbert
RIP. When I was "knee high to a grasshopper" in London, suddenly all the girls started screaming because the Stones made a surprise public appearance. Even my Mum was ecstatic.

You must stay busy commenting on all those people you disapprove of while the vast majority get it. Is that difficult to not maintain that rigid position and just give the man a shout out for his life work. You must be allot of fun at parties.
