Sanook reported that an unnamed immigration officer had complained to the media on behalf of 14 officers who it was alleged had to pay back Covid allowances.

It was claimed that a former commander ordered them to pay back 128,800 baht directly into the Krung Thai bank account of an "inspector".

They showed the media Line chat evidence related to payments they received in September 2020

Daily News reported that the men at the center of the allegations feared speaking up about injustice as they were concerned about reprisals.

The spokesman for Surin Immigration responded with various explanations and a promise to get to the truth of the matter in the standard 7 days.

Pol Col Ekkamon Pornchukiat of Region 4 said that the case was over travel and investigative allowances.

He promised that a criminal prosecution would follow if wrong doing was found.

Dam being built near our village.

All the locals, if they want work, have to hand in their bank books, cards and passwords.

Management then book out overtime to them, which they don't actually work, and management then withdraw the O/T money for themselves.

So I can well believe this officer is telling the truth.

Oh come on.... There has to be a misunderstanding... Couldn't be anything else, right?

I just had my extension done at Chong Chob and there is a whole new crew. Lady Captain is straight as an Australian desert highway. She needed pictures (2 per 1 A-4 !) redone and called me back the next day saying there was a problem with my passport. Tuned out I was missing 1 stamp from when I changed my home from Phuket. She sorted that out. Also no house visit and absolutely NO brow envelope! Took me a whole day !

Running out of foreigners to steal from, so they now have to steal from their fellow officers? Disgusting.

I refused to pay 2500 baht for a Covid extension as I know and had the previous  3x 1900 baht receipts to prove it. Top to bottom corrupt. Been the same for 20+ years at that office, many stories. When they had an outbreak of Covd-19 they wouldn't post their infected staff's timelines on Facebook to protect  past visitors. They tried to cover it up. They deleted my request for information, about the outbreak on their Facebook page.

But understandable.

All it takes is for one of them to report him, which obviously happened and now he's in nig trouble, this guy is obviously an amateur.

Telling someone to go <deleted> themselves is often quite effective.
