The U.S dollar index is now under 100
It's something to keep an eye on for sure, as there are limits to what the markets will tolerate, over the short term. On the other hand, the US dollar does not exist in a vacuum. Around the world, central banks are all playing the same debt-based game, to a degree. I see that Thailand is now preparing a "stimulus package" to deal with the effects of the trade war. On the whole, I'm not too worried about the Thai/US Dollar exchange rate, going forward, at least for the next year or two. Can exchange rates fluctuate? Sure. But so what? That happens on a regular basis. Just never think that the Thai baht can't also be affected by the effects of money printing. -

Thailand Prepares Economic Stimulus Amid US Tariff Pause
I bow to your superior knowledge.. but this is all about USA hitting China using trade as a tool. Part of the deal for Asian nations is that they also sign a pledge to use tariffs against China. This is so that China does not try stealthily ship commodities into their countries and then into USA under a different flag. If they don't agree to do this then no trade deal. Vietnam as you mentioned has many Chinese outlets and production lines in Vietnam. -

I did a little outdoor job at the house and felt fine. Earlier that morning I was having a swim as the rain poured down. I am only about 10 k north of town. Nothing compared to last years heatwave. -
