Does anyone knows, what happens with returning thais who test positive on arrival / are close contacts?

Under current situation with sandbox programmes.

If with no / mild symptoms, would they be sent to home isolation / field hospital?

In case of close contacts : ASQ?

Thank you.

If you arrive in the sandbox and you are positive they will not let you stay in your reserved hotel with the rest of the population. You will be placed in an alternative "Thailand Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) Hotels" and pay double the amount you would have normaly paid at the resort. The accomadations are not that great compared to the resort you would have stayed in if you tested negative. Expect to pay more for each person in your party. The Resort will give you a refund that you can apply to the ASQ Hotel. You will have to stay 14 days. If you do not have the money for the ASQ Hotel then they will put in you in a Tent near the hospital or near a military base on the island. Also, if it get worse make sure you have covid insurance or good health care to cover inpatient stay at a hospital for a least 3 to 4 months depending on how covid progressess. You will not be able to leave Thailand, except on a private charter at your own expense. No, airlines will take a positive medical covid patient.
