The powers to be don't want the bars and clubs opened or alcohol sold in restaurants or if they could get away with it without the people coming after them with pitch forks and anything else a total ban on alcohol

Actually the Sanctuary of Truth is nice but 500 baht too much. But there is beach access (Bamboo beach)  off off soi-16 But  outside of this place -Nada . This beach bar / 4,5 star area looks to be crawling with Koreans. Hi so Thais and maybe some chinese.  And looks to be not unnoticed by some of the local ladies.

Strange isn't it that certain people wax lyrical about Thai culture yet deny a major and ingrained part of it. I read an article some years ago that suggested around 80% of Thai males ( cant recall the precise age bracket ) visited some form of brothel at least once a month.

The alcohol ban is a misguided effort from pumpkin face and his entourage in government to slap a ban because they think Thais and tourists alike cannot control themselves when they drink alcohol and that inhibitions are lowered and therefore they will not follow the rules on mask wearing and social distancing.

 

All this ' part of a grand plan ' as suggested by the conspiracy theorists on TVF to clean up Thailand by its puritanical leaders are just blowing smoke!

 

Those asses in government don't think that far ahead and you give them way too much credit.

 

Thailand has one of the highest alcohol per capita ratios in SE Asia.

Windmill and Coconut Bar are the main attractrions, followed by 6/1.
