During the weekend, junta forces killed at least a dozen civilians in the Magwe, Sagaing, and Yangon regions.

Two brothers were slain by junta soldiers in Taungdwingyi Township, Magwe Region, on Sunday when a telecom mast belonging to the military-owned Mytel, one of Myanmar's four telecom companies, was dismantled.

In a statement, resistance fighters said that forces tortured villagers while interrogating them about the incident, and that two of them were slain.
It was also revealed that four additional villagers had been imprisoned.

Following the shadow National Unity Government's declaration of war against the junta on September 7, resistance fighters are targeting telecom towers owned by Myanmar's military.

During weekend assaults on Hnan Khar and Htet Hlaw villages in Gangaw Township in the region, a resistance bastion, junta troops also set fire to several homes.

During a raid in Htet Hlaw on Sunday morning, junta troops shot and killed a villager and a resistance fighter, according to neighbours.
During the raid, some 30 buildings were burned down, causing people to evacuate.

When villagers returned to put out the fires, they discovered the two bodies, they alleged.
