Got my first Pfizer jab today (Sept 22), and appointment for second in 3 weeks (Oct 13). Have to say it went very well, very busy but they handled  the large crowd in a very professional and efficient manner. I am now glad that I was unable to register for the Moderna some months back at thb3400 as Pfizer was free. I hope the Moderna is refunded as it should be free too. My Pfizer was done through online registration with Bangkok Hospital Phuket.

First Pfizer today at Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin.

Ground floor check-in, blood pressure, and temp.  Wait for a group of five to be escorted to the 3rd floor, called almost immediately, jabbed, and wait less than 30 minutes.  Second Pfizer appt. by mail.

Had first shot of AZ 29th June. Second shot was due today, but cancelled. Was told, "No vaccine. Will contact you when available."

Need to get double vaccinated to pop back to UK to sort some affairs.

Have been registered in a local clinic and a hospital for almost for four months now for Moderna.

Now giving some serious thought to getting a Moderna shot as a third "booster" after my second AZ. If it ever comes.

Update:

Was messaged late Monday with a new appointment.

Got my second AZ jab yesterday so now fully vaccinated 2 x AZ.

Next problem is hoping the UK will recognise these vaccinations. Pick up vaccination certificate on Monday.

Not holding out much hope for my plan (A) to return to UK in November. without doing 14 days ASQ

Plan (B) is try and get a Moderna booster Nov, Dec, or Jan and see if that helps to try and fly back in Feb. Had my name down for several months for Moderna.

Fingers crossed.

I am very happy that everyone is vaccinated. Consequently , no one should be afraid of me who is not vaccinated . I am not

anti-vaccine but after being registered seven times I have given up on being eligible for a vaccine here. So it will be for the next pandemic, meanwhile I will have to do without

I got my first Pfizer yesterday at Central Floresta too. The short stocky lady with the tiny megaphone was quite funny. "Stop calling your friends to come!" she shouted as more people turned up. It was a bit of a free for all with no checking of names and times. Once inside - about 2 hours later for me - it was all pretty efficient until the waiting time after the vaccination. I have no idea what was going on but a half hour waited turned into an hour as they called out numbers in random lottery fashion - 426, 492, 527, 438, 496, 494, 502, 419 ... it didn't seem to matter. Five people shuffling papers on a desk and a poor woman trying to make people sit down who wanted to know why they couldn't pick up their appointment for next time after 30 minutes as stated on the back of every chair.

Overall, 9/10 for me. The vaccination was virtually painless and no side effects apart from a slight stiff shoulder last night and today, which was not helped by my wife punching me there to kill a bug!

I had covid earlier this year and it was like a strong flu. Nasty but not unbearable. I had also a positive antibody test result to confirm my immunity which should be much stronger from an infection than from the vaccines according to the most recent information: https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/09/15/natural-immunity-vaccine-mandate/

There aren't many incentives for me to get vaccinated now. I don't know if travel would be it but currently I don't see many places attracting me enough to merit vaccination for just the entry. It would be easy to fix that quickly if necessary as here the vaccines are now universally available at any time to anyone of eligible age.

So, you want to get a Moderna booster one month after being fully vaxed?

Also, at this point one AZ (not approved in UK) and one Moderna does nothing for you to avoid quarantine.

The waiting time after the vaccine was actually to make sure you had no adverse reaction to the jab. Yes, the megaphone lady was funny????
