webfact Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 BANGKOK, Sept 21 (TNA) – The Food and Drug Administration has not approved the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine made by Sinopharm for children aged 3 and over on insufficient safety information and urged Biogenetech Co to give more information. FDA secretary-general Dr. Paisarn Dunkum said Biogenetech which was the approved importer of the Sinopharm vaccine sought permission from the FDA to lower the minimum age of recipients of the Sinopharm vaccine from 18 to 3 years old. On Sept 10 experts from the FDA and many other organizations considered information on the safety and efficacy of the vaccine and resolved not to reduce the minimum age of Sinopharm vaccine recipients to 3 years old as proposed because there was not enough information about the safety of the vaccine administration and the company did not submit any data on the efficacy of the vaccine among recipients aged 3-17 years. Dogmatix Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 The reported that CRA had already vaccinated 2,000 school children with SP which it confirmed has not been approved by Thai FDA for children. It seems FDA approval is not required in the case of SP but the government is unlikely to take responsibility if anything goes amiss. A friend says he is getting heavy pressure from the British headmaster of his daughter's international school to sign for her to get SP without mentioning the lack of approval or explaining why the school cannot get into the government's Pfizer roll out. 1
dinsdale Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Anutin who is the Health Minister says it's ok so it must be. Like mixing vaccinations. This is all about buying more Chinese juice, jabbing people with it as quickly as possible to once again show how fantastic Thailand is and keep filling the pockets of the very few. The health of the population is not the priority here.
