Majority of parents in Pattaya want their children to receive Covid -19 vaccine, says recent Pattaya City poll

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) expects students 12-18 nationwide to receive a complete set of two doses of Pfizer vaccines prior to the official start of ‘on-site’ learning at schools nationwide by November 15th. It is not, however, going to be mandatory, according to the MOPH. Thailand is also exploring vaccination for younger children, however, it has not yet been approved by the FDA as seen in this article here.

Video of the chaos in the tweet, awful scenes:

So many people turned up at Kantang Hospital in Trang today to get vaccinated that they had to call the police to help hand out queue numbers. Today is Mahidol Day and health officials planned to vaccinate one million people today to honour the Father of Modern Medicine #Thailand

Dr. Kiattipoom Wongrachit, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, said that they received reports from 12 health zones (excluding Bang Sue) that at 4:30pm a record 1,062,081 people had been vaccinated. The final summary will be done at midnight #Thailand

Letting that happen is just madness. Officials who organize these vaccination centres should be ashamed of themselves. The CCSA preaching social distancing and personal responsibility and then instances like this are allowed to happen.

Or they could of vaccinated 800k each day for the last couple of days instead of 600k and possibly avoided the scenes shown at Katang Hospital. Anutin and Co. putting their grandstanding before people's health.

Canadians highlight the confusion, expense and hurdles facing tourists visiting Thailand right now

On Monday night in Phuket, local police launched a crackdown on bars selling alcohol in Patong, a resort on the western side of the island with one business leader claiming it had been informally agreed with local officials and police. The news comes as Thailand trails far behind countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia with only 22.6% of the population fully vaccinated and a lack of clarity on when more provinces in the kingdom will be staging a restricted re-opening without quarantine and on what terms. On Thursday, the National Communicable Disease Committee floated a proposal to reduce the quarantine period from 14 days to 7 days for vaccinated arrivals by air but it comes with moves by the government to replace the current emergency provision with permanent legalisation and reportedly an even larger oversight organisation.

Wanted 35000 baht, approx £800, for covid tests so the elderly Canadian couple could go to tourist sights.

Basically said, 'If we had known how bad the regulations would be, we would have gone to Portugal.'

It’s not a disaster to those who wanted to get vaccinated and couldn't afford to pay for their jab at a private hospital.

I am sure they came away quite happy.
