Popular Post Johnny Mac
So the school my 12 year old attends are saying all pupils need to be jabbed? I'm not comfortable with this, but what choice do I have apart from moving her and it may be the same at others schools anyway? My wife being Thai will of course follow protocol and just do exactly what she is told with no argument. I've not had much of a convo with her about it as it become an argument straightaway, and I really don't fancy bringing it up again anytime soon. My gut feeling is my daughter (and all children) will most likely be fine, but there is that risk for now, or maybe in years ahead that worries me? Any reasonable thoughts on this, although I don't even know what I am looking for from the forum on this one if I'm being honest. 2 1 1

Popular Post The Cipher
99%+ chance your daughter will be fine. Is she at any real risk of Covid? No. So does she need the vaccine? Also no. But she does need an education, and rightly or wrongly, her vaccine status apparently determines her access to education in the near future. So I would just comply with this because the risk of an adverse outcome is really low, and the inconvenience of non-compliance is high. 3 3 1

So you would be willing to bet the risk of Covid is less than the risk of a new vaccine (which by the way has been administered to hundreds of millions so far successfully) that you 'think' might have long term effects when the probability of Covid long term effects are potentially devastating. And don't let anyone fool you with the "children are not a risk" BS....check stories of kids debilitated for life by long term symptoms. 5 5
phetphet
Can't see a way around it. I am with you on worries though. All these vaccines are still under EUA's. The only thing that you might be able to do, though very difficult I imagine, is to state your concerns to the school and see if you can get some choice in what vaccine she is given. Personally I wouldn't want any child of mine given an mRNA vaccine. Edited October 2, 2021 by phetphet 2

Sure, but we both know that's a waste of time. I think it's Pzifer.
Popular Post 2long
I'm 100% with the OP here. I'm not antivax, but not keen on being told my kids need to have something so new, just to be able to study. Also the Thai wife thing is spot on! With limited umbers of in-class students, I feel that any kids who don't get jabbed will be told to continue online studying while their classmates go into school.

I know she has to have it, the reason for this post is to see if anyone has the same worry OR to allay any worries. I think what bothers me is, and I think I'm right in saying this, but most countries give the child/parents a choice, but here the kids are being told they have to have it. That's what I don't like. 3

Yes, agree totally. I am not allowing my 10yo son to be jabbed with a Covid vaccine until there is some long-term studies available on any potentially harmful effects. Young (healthy) kids under 16 have virtually zero risk from Covid. 9 1

Aren't you tired to repeat ad nauseam the same empty ideas ? Can you describe us what is common between : -a vaccine against diphtheria, developped 100 years ago, made in the classic way, used widely since long time, so for which we have tons of real data about its risks, benefits etc. -a mRNA product, totally new technology, never used on a wide scale, that does not prevent transmission, contamination... and for which we have ZERO data on long term use. It's fascinating. So to answer the OP : don't give this product to your child. It's basic common sense. Johnny Mac
I think part of my frustration is how I have ended up in this sweatbox, with these ridiculous people and politicians, etc. I'm losing my mind I think. 2

Pfizer are currently seeking approval to give it to over 5 year olds and I do not think they have any intention to stop there. Never before have they been able to be able to sell something to healthy people who do not need what they are selling, with full government approval and coercion all around the world. If at some point in the future we are all paying a Netflix type subscription to big pharma for our twice yearly vaccines when governments shift the responsibility for payment to the individual, I don't even think I would be surprised at this point. 7 1

ikke1959
IT can take years to find out what the effects are of this vaccine.. There was once a problem with Softenon too.. But who remembers that??? 2

Indeed, and unfortunately I guess we are relying on the same companies to invent a "treatment" for this virus that would negate the need for vaccines. Since treatments are only given to those who are actually ill, I am struggling to think what the motivation is for them to invent this as they would immediately lose 99.9% of their vaccine customers overnight. Maybe I'm just being cynical and everyone involved has the best of intentions.
redwood1
I would not give the vax to a child no way........Get creative....Say your child is allergic to the vax components...Demand a exemption....Threaten to sue them, but a simple exemption would make all the nastiness go away ......Say you are waiting a year and then another year etc........There are many options...... Your a Dad you have the right to be concerned for your daughter in all aspects. I haven't read into facts about children getting covid and then getting long covid apparently that can cause future problems according to info from my older daughter. They have apparently vaccinated with Pfizer over half the kids in America aged 12 and over, from what I've read there vaccinating kids from aged 6 and so far results are OK. As for the future my personal views would be to be more concerned with any further covid outbreaks and further strains appearing maybe caused by un-vaccinated people and children.

Try telling my missus that. You have to remember that no vax (regardless of why) would mean she can't go back to school. Making it sound easy by typing it out on a forum and it happening in reality are two different things.
Johnny Mac
Despite my OP and natural concerns for my own child, my overriding emotion is ''let them get on with it'' I'm worn out fighting these idiotic people, I've practically given up now and will just accept whatever happens... On a tangent, I see that the nutjob governor of California has said that all 12 years olds up must have the vaccine. 2

Popular Post 248900_1469958220
If it is mandatory to go back to school, how about some kind of liability letter that the school needs to sign....If they are so sure about it, let them prove it. We are talking about kids here and a vaccine that has no long term studies. Maybe give us all some confidence......back up your vaccines for kids with something I get YOU, the school to sign. But if certain schools make up their own little policies........maybe they need to back up their confidence in what they are doing. Lets say the govt is wishy washy in its wording about students...as it seems to be at the moment. IF the school is taking it upon themselves to make the rules......then fine, let them back up their policies. Isnt that fair? 1
248900_1469958220
Any legally minded people out there able to give a good example of such a letter to be translated into Thai? I will give it a go myself. One would need to be careful with the wording and subsequent translation. I mean, contracts are meaningless at the best of times here, BUT if many parents started fronting up to schools with such letters......it could send a message, it would probably make some rather nervous. I wonder if any schools would sign such a letter....Ha!!
