Cedel, you've said what the government and Immigration can't understand. I don't know if that's because of their intelligence, traditional thinking, or stupidity / a lack of common sense and wisdom. They seem to be saying ... "Look! We're making our visas better so you'll come and stay longer. And to encourage you to stay longer, while you're here, we'll tax, even double-tax, your income everywhere in the world. Isn't this wonderful for you?" ... Mabe they think that foreigners are stupid. -

Western Union better than “Wise”
just checked, to transfer $1000 US to Thailand costs $6.83, sometimes it does take longer for them to transfer but I think it is a problem with the banks, I do not trust western union as thay have always ripped you off in the exchange same as paypal, Wise is a hell of a lot more trustworthy as far as I am concerned. -

Are you "all in" in your relationship?
Emergency care is free, if you are stupid enough to tell them you left they will not refuse treatment, they will change you for it. Having said that the NHS is in such a state you would have a long wait for treatment free or not, it can take weeks to get a GP appointment. -

Cenfest immigration report
I extended my retirement visa on Wednesday at airport imm. My bank supplied me with the Normal letter and a 'certificate' which looked remarkably like the letter, all for a bargain basement price of 300B. Being the first to arrive at imm I received ticket 001. By the time the previous days backlog was cleared I received a ticket in the 40s. I finally left at 11.30.
