Government lawyers reject false claims by The Guardian newspaper that PM has Cyprus passport

The Cambodian Ministry of Justice has asked its Cypriot counterpart for cooperation in investigating and officially providing the truth in relation to the false allegations that PM Hun Sen holds a passport of the Republic of Cyprus.

 

The Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Cambodia has noted that a number of newspapers, including but not limited to The Guardian and The Washington Post have recently published findings from “The Pandora Papers Investigation”, in which there are exaggerative and false allegations of the possession of a Cypriot passport by the PM

 

“We would like to ascertain you that Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a national hero of the Kingdom of Cambodia who has led the struggle movement to end the-more-than-two-decade-war and brought the full and complete peace, territorial unity, happiness and prosperity to Cambodian people and the Kingdom of Cambodia,” wrote H.E. Koeut Rith, Minister of Justice of Cambodia in his letter dated Oct. 6 to H.E. Mrs. Stephie Dracos Minister of Justice and Public Order of Cyprus.
