Settlement Visa For My Thai Wife

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I have recently married my thai g/f of 2 years and now want to apply for a settlement visa for her to come to the u.k.

I am now living in rented accommodation and start a new job in a week, we will not apply for the visa until around september/october time.

Just some questions i hope somebody can help me with :-

Will the tenancy agreement be enough to satisfy the requirements ?

Will 5 months wage slips be enough ?

How much is sufficent funds in the bank account ?

letter from employer needed ?

should i get a family member to sponsor her ?

Any further advice will be greatly appreciated.....Thanks !!

To answer your points

The tenancy agreement will sufice if it states that 2 people can live there (assuming there is only 2!)

5 months wage slips should be enough

No figure for bank savings but in todays world a few thousand is pretty fair. Do you also have a credit card credit limit?

A letter from employer, not necessary but would add strength if it stated you were permanantly employed.

Seems as though you can sponsor her yourself without help from family

Further advice... search this forum on the word 'settlement' and check out the experience and worries of others.
