PCR Test Chiang Rai

Featured Replies

Anyone know a place where you can get a 24 hour PCR test done in C.R. (For flying abroad)?

Bangkok hospital seems to be the only place that does them and they are located quite far from the city center.

Anyone know of a place that can do the tests which is centrally located ?

Thanks , I went to a hospital in CR yesterday and they confirmed that anyone who gets a positive test result would be kept for 14 days  in hospital quarantine at a cost of about 250 000 Baht , so, I will get the test done in a different province

Not sure about those figures.

What hospital was it?

Why don't you go to the government hospital for your test?

A farang here in CR tested positive and was quarantined for the standard 14 days for free.

It was at Overbrook Hospital .

I dont think that government hospitals do PCR tests , as they only seem to be done in private hospitals/clinics .

Could be that they would put any positive people in the hospital where they were tested ?

Maybe.

I'd just try Sriburin or even phone them.

If you don't have any symptoms, there's a fair chance you'll be OK anyway.

Yes , likely to get a negative result , but the consequences for getting a positive result would be severe ; missing your flight , 250 000 hospital fee , 14 days in hospital , could go on visa overstay and being sat in hospital with no symptoms .

Better to go to a different province where they don't force people to stay in hospital for 14 days if positive

Fair enough.

You don't think it would be standard procedure everywhere though?

I am sure that isn't the case in CM , you can self quarantine at home if you get a positive test result  .

The receptionist whom I spoke to at Overbrook hospital said it was Chaing Rai province rules to put all positive people in hospital quarantine

If that's the case , a trip to CM would be in order.

Maybe ring Chiang Mai Ram for confirmation.

But still, don't see how they come to approx 250 000 for 14 days.

That's outrageous.

That was just the receptionist giving a rough guess of how much it would cost ,it wasnt an official quote

May have been from previous cases where the patient got sick and had to spend time in I.C.U ?
