Chonburi, Thailand-Here are the highlights of today’s orders from the Chonburi Governor announced around lunchtime today, Halloween, October 31st, 2021.

 

We are not going to detail every single point or business that was previously allowed to open but will focus on changes or differences. Here is the link to the Chonburi PR with the original orders. (In Thai)

 

All are effective tomorrow, November 1st. (Although the curfew, as previously announced, ended last night and is not in place tonight, Halloween.)

 

 -Alcohol ban stays at restaurants, bars, nightlife, entertainment venues stay closed. However, they did say they are “preparing” rules and guidelines to allow these venues to open “in the future” without a specific date.

 

-Snooker, bowling, rollerskating venues, and pool halls can reopen.

 

-Arcades, game shops, can reopen. Amusement parks and water parks in malls however must remain closed.

-Most venues, including restaurants, gyms, etc, can open until 11:00 PM. Convenience stores, markets, supermarkets, can open 24 hours again if they choose.

 

-Bang Lamung District, Pattaya City, Sriracha District, Koh Sichang District and Sattahip District (only Na Chom Thian Subdistrict and Bang Saray Sub-district) are officially pilot tourism areas. However, as of this second (see first note) this doesn’t appear to have any immediate change other than “rules being reviewed” for entertainment venues, etc.

Difference between 1920's prohibition and current day Thailand/Pattaya.

 

you can legally buy alcohol in Thailand/Pattaya !!

Nobody travels thousands of miles to drink. They come to Thailand to find their brides and orgy partners.

Alcohol banned, schools closed but lets open up to over 60 countries, welcome one and all we are ready for you. Crazy times.

Yeah, doesn't make sense.  The super spreader events are when you have to visit immigration and be jammed in line with a few hundred others.  Insane.

Thailand is full of expat/tourist alcoholics many come here it seems and would rather drink then meet a partner.

Would point out alcoholics are people who want to stop drinking but can't.

Most of us are happy to keep drinking .... so not alcoholics.

 

Back to the OP, no tourists are coming.

Strange regulations ... the virus represents no danger anymore if a pool table is near ?

Why isn't my local open air swimming pool allowed to open?

One of my great pleasures here is to visit a beach bar, have a beer, and enjoy the sunset.  Maybe have dinner.  This regulation doesn't make sense.  Did this yesterday, had a beer, but had to be in a coffee mug.  Stupid.

Why should they be ramped up in an environment of them being relaxed?

The similarity to 1920s prohibition and the present is a heavy handed, ineffective, destructive and corrupt government.
