Many schools around the country resumed on-site classes for the second semester today, after being closed since May due to COVID-19 pandemic.

At Bodindecha School in Bangkok, the director, Wisit Jaithoeng, said that on-site classes were open today for about 600 lower secondary students, out of 4,413, as a trial, adding that 16 sites with good air circulation and which are considered safe have been designated as their classrooms.

He said that about 94% of students have been inoculated with two vaccine doses and he expects all students to be fully inoculated by November 8th.

The children at the schools I am familiar with in Northern  Isaan have all returned today, some vaccinated, some not but due some time this week.

The younger toddler classes go back Wednesday.

Which Province would that be in Northern Isaan?

In the Muslim Deep South, where I live, all schools are closed and will stay closed for months to come. Probably the entire school year.

Too many pornohs to spread the virus and too few people who have been doubly vaxxed.

According to B.P this morning, only 34% of public schools nationwide actually opened yesterday.

Also said we have to learn to live with Sars-Cov-19 or words to that effect which I agree with. The caveat to this is at less than 50% double jabbed and of this 50% I suspect a large % needs a third jab it's too early to say we have to learn to live with this. Kids and teachers getting infected at schools (even double jabbed can still contract and spread) and taking it home is a real possibility.

At his school maybe but nationwide it's a very different story.

In my province I didn't see any sign of the usual morning school pandemonium on the roads, my guess is only a very small percentage opened up.

Its the same here in Phuket, I just returned from the normal school run for my daughter as all the International schools are open, but the traffic is still very light, no signs of any of the public school buses, I pass half a dozen public schools and all were closed. There maybe some open in other parts of the island?

In my Issan province it's the opposite. Primary kids are back, secondary kids won't be back for another two weeks. Go figure.

They truly shouldn't bother until at least the greater general population of vaccinated has reached 60%-65%

They should've been working on a schooling vaccination/protocol plan months ago, where at the least there was some sense of uniformity.
