Popular Post mtls2005
AFAIK, masks remain mandatory. However, I think many tourists now being lured with the Thailand Pass/Test & Go scheme might be expecting to be able to go mask-less? Or they may be unaware of the mandate?
Popular Post FridgeMagnet1
Yes and I don’t expect it to go away anytime soon. I haven’t seen anyone not wearing their masks when walking around Bangkok. A few have it under their chin, but not many 2

Sad really 15 1

Popular Post Bert got kinky
DIKTHAI, why are you even asking this question? On your profile you show your location as Bangsu. Just stick your head out of the window and take a look if any of the locals are not wearing masks. rabang
Masks will remain mandatory in Asia probably for many years to come. Wearing them outdoors in a hot and humid climate is a nuisance that potential tourists should be aware of.

Popular Post Moti24
Yes, mandatory mask wearing. However, in my village, I'm the only person wearing a mask outside a property, but then, I'm a foreigner, abiding by the rules of the host country. 1

It's just the right thing to do at this time. 1 5

Naturally, if I'm wrong, it will take less than a few nanoseconds for someone to correct me.

AFAIK if you are caught not wearing a mask there is also the possibility of being blacklisted! But not mandatory and few tourists have used them over there either. Plus they were used often only outdoors. BTW, I used a mask occasionally in Bangkok as well a few years ago before covid due to the pollution. Not sure if they were any help though. To think that the covid boggy man will get you outside while you pass by a stranger is the same thing. Can you show me some stats about the spread of covid outside by walking past someone? 4 2

You may well be right, but wearing a mask costs very little and, even if it has minimal effects on contagion, it gives others peace of mind. A person with any empathy would wear one for that reason alone. Me, I wear one and I have a beard, so it doesn't do much for me, but does help others feel safe.
