Can we talk about the The Th*i E****ner's attempts at the English language?
The articles are supposedly written by native English speakers. And yet, some of the authors seem to firmly believe that every other sentence should begin with or otherwise include conjuncitve adverbs, discourse markers, or sentence adverbs. As a consequence, the sentences, at length, come across as, ultimately, unnatural in the end. Is there a known reason for this? I wonder whether the writers are asked by the editors to incorporate as many of those as possible, or whether the editors later go through each article and add them in. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? -

Actually in the US and UK it was 6 feet.......only the US uses archaic units of measurements, much the distress of the ring wingers in the UK who also want to use pounds, ounces, pecks, bushels and the like......one exception (not sure why, is miles). As we used 2m and the US used 6'.....those 6.74" made all the difference....you died in your droves...... who said size doesn't matter? -

Transport Driving Licence Renewals Go Digital: No More Tests Needed
Quite likely, but only because it will be tied to the Thai ID card, whereas we will still need to provide one of the 'proof of address' methods (CoR, Letter of Address, or Yellow Book where accepted).... But, the added bonus for foreigners, even IF this is not available to us, is less queues at the DLT while most others renew online... IF the do, that is. When we renewed our Sons passport - we booked an online appointment and turned up at the allotted time... waited a few mins and were being processed. Meanwhile 100's of others were in a long queue as they had not made their online appointments - So it seems that many, still do not adapt to these 'convenient' online measures. -

China Has an Army of Robots...!!!: Is the USA lost, already?
Tesla has robots. The US and China are both leading the world in robotics. Not sure if any one country has an edge. So I don't understand why Trump wants to bring manufacturing back to the US ... since it will all be automated soon ... that part confuses me. -

Nobody: it's all BS and hysteria. The only people working illegaly are Burmese & Chinese who fit in visually. NOT farang who do not fit in. Even if they are running a bar or club they ALWAYS remain seated leaving the work to the Thai staff. As soon as they lift a finger to do any work they get busted immediately and reported.
