Would they do this in Melbourne, NY, London, Brussels etc? Then the annoying part, none had a mask. Get them out. There are the unspoken of and unofficial activities of the disappearing of folks. Fully befitting of the dirty and disrespectful foreigner.

Follow the law or go home. It's not about what the barmy army think is the right thing to do in another country. Got to love the foreigners who get more outraged than the locals.... quite comical... I call them the ‘insect eaters’ - cos they spend their time proving how they have assimilated into the local culture !!!.... (by eating insects amongst other things). "Follow the law or go home” - this comment alone shows how far removed from reality some posters are when they forget that Thailand is a country where a lot of the laws are generally ignored... Of course, wear a mask when in public... ok.. but don’t get so twisted up about it that it ruins our day when someone else doesn’t !!!... Not villages, beaches, private cars etc etc. Couple of things, in your OP you do not "specifically limit this to malls". Even if you had stated that (you didn't) you can't "specifically limit" something and then "extend it to all other enclosed public spaces". Make up your mind which one it is, specifically!

I don’t disagree.... but would wear one simply because of the ‘optics’.... in central Bangkok ‘non-mask wearers’ are an easy target for any Police officer or BMA enforcers (think the guys who catch the foreigners who drop cigarette butts).... On the Soi I live on (which is fairly busy but not central Bangkok) - there are a lot of Thai’s not wearing masks... But go into the nearby wet market and about 90% are.... of course 7-11 everyone does, they have to. About 6 months ago I stepped out of the car and walked into 7-11... the staff erupted !!! I’d forgotten my mask !!! the same thing happens if we forget to ‘palm’ the thermometer. Its all theatre.... i just can’t be bothered not to play along !!!..... That said, I do think masks have value in busy areas, on flights and public transport too.

OneMoreFarang
It happens seldom that I see people without mask. And then there are the following options: a) The person is somewhere outside and a couple of meters away from anybody else. Ok, no problem. There is no reason to get upset. b) Is there a reason the person does not wear a mask? Maybe he/she is drinking or eating something. Give him a break, even if he only sips on his drink every 5 minutes. Should you really remind him he should change his behavior? c) Obvious idiots who want to show everybody: I get away with this. Don't do anything. It won't take long before someone else will show them the errors of their thinking. d) Innocent people who just don't know any better or forgot their mask. I.e. a woman in my building who I saw in the lift who forgot her mask. Now when I see her I ask her about the mask. Because I know it's likely that she forgot her mask and has to go back to her room. I better tell her when I see her so that nobody tells her when she is already in front of the building and then she has to go back.

What do the vaccinated have to worry about if they are fully vaccinated? They are vaccinated, they can not contract or transmit Covid. Why should they wear a mask? 2

I avoid them myself...not because I'm worried about infection...only because they act like adolelscents who can't behave in a society in which they are guests. When I get out of the car I have to put my glasses on my forehead to see where I am going and what I am doing. If I leave them in place every time I breathe out they get fogged up, and I cannot read any forms etc, Going into the a/c bank just makes it worse. I have to pull the bottom of the mask away from my face to breathe out and still wear my glasses Back in the car and it is mask off and I can see properly and breathe easily too. I don't normally wear a mask in the car, as it is a private vehicle and there is only me and my family in it. I think it is pointless as when we get home we don't wear masks around the house.

What opinion? As for Thai statistics, it depends on the provider and statistic. Covid death data seems OK now but think deaths were underreported in 2020 if compared to excess deaths. Hard to know everything in regards to Covid data but try to avoid conspiracies.

There will always be those who need to be different or difficult just ignore them. Same me. Several times I have come out of a coffee shop or from having eaten somewhere and realised after a while that my mask is either under my chin or in my pocket. Not intentional. I even came down for breakfast in a hotel the other day, and had to ask a staff member for a mask. I put it down to jet lag having just returned from a short trip back to the UK. I do agree that the blatent refuseniks do need some form of punishment or coercion to make them wear masks, but deportation seems a bit extreme. 1

JustAnotherHun
Quote Personally I think they should be arrested, fined and deported to set an example. They're deporting others for worse reasons these days, on the spurious grounds of being a danger to the public... What a nice example of block leader mentality, a true "concerned citizen". I hope you called the police to inprison those disgustinge criminals. You might carry a gun next time in case, there's no brown uniform near. Then just shoot them. But stay away from them a few meters, otherwise the virus could jump on you,,,huhuhuuu
