I'm sure this has been asked before but wasn't able to find my answer using search, so apologies.

As my Thai visa hasn't been processed in time, I entered the country on a visa-waiver with 30-day permit.

A few days later I received the email confirmation for my 60-day TR visa.

Do I need to do anything to be able to stay the 60 days?

The stamp in my passport shows the 30-day end date.

Many thanks.

I am sure you cannot do anything to use your visa since you are already in the country. Arrival immigration are the only ones that can stamp you into the country to use a visa when arriving.

Maybe you could use it if you were to enter the country before it expires in about 3 months.

You can apply for a 30 day extension of your 30 day visa exempt entry to stay for a total of 60 days.

Does anyone happen to know if I need to supply a passport-sized photo (or any other documents/forms) for the 30-day extension of the visa waiver?

Looking at this website there aren't any documents listed under Entry Stamp Extension.

Is it totally unthinkable of to maybe go to immigration police at the airport and ask to be stamped in and out ?

Yes

They will only correct an error done when they stamp you into the country. There was no error done since his visa had not been issued yet.

That is not a real immigration site you found.

You will need a completed TM7 form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached.

Copies of your passport photo page, arrival stamp and Tm6 departure card.
