BoI believes Cabinet's decision to reduce eco-car excise tax will lead to more investors

The Board of Investment (BoI) believes a reduction of excise tax for eco-car will help attract investors into Thailand to expand into the eco-car project.

The Cabinet has approved to lower excise tax of eco-car from 30 percent to 17 percent, a move seen to boost investments. In addition, Thailand plans to export eco-cars in the future.

According to Mr. Thongchai Sukkawuttikul (ธงชัย สุขวุฒิกุล), Chief of Honda maintenance from Phuket (ภูเก็ต), he agrees with the Cabinet’s decision to reduce the excise tax. He also believes the eco-car will be environmentally-friendly and help conserve energy efficiently.

At the same time, people have been requested to reduce energy consumption.
