Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system

I didn't get a reminder when mine was due, but remembered and applied within the window.  Took a few days longer than usual to approve, but it finally came through on the 6th Nov.

I submitted my 90-day report online to BKK CW on Saturday, and got back the approval receipt via email today (Monday). Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Hard to argue with that!

The reminder system didn't work for me for the first time since inception, which has resulted in me being about 3 weeks overdue. I know I should have had a backup system in place.

My problem now is how to proceed. I believe I can't now submit it on-line, instead must visit my IO in person. While a fine is annoying, the main pain is the 2-hour drive (130 kms) to my IO just to sort out this petty matter. My driver is busy at the moment with harvesting. There are no agents anywhere in my vicinity. My next extension is in April.

Does anyone know of a way to sort it without a visit?

Perhaps leave it until April, they can only fine me once?  Hope the rumored non-Immi visa changes make frequent reports redundant. 

Lodge it on-line and hope it is accepted - unlikely.

Thanks for the suggestion, it does seem a bit quiet here.

I rarely ask for advice on the forum any more as there are too many who respond to genuine requests with unhelpful advice, weak jokes or criticism of spelling errors.

I can give you a response from AI on your problem, but you would get a better one from @DrJack54.

I only did my first online 90 day reporting today after a hiatus of seven years, so my opinion might be off.

I have a return trip of 120 kms to my IO so I regularly call and ask over the phone when I have an issue.

But, I would suggest a personal visit ASAP in your case would be the best bet but can see its currently problematic for you.

@Old Croc  Don't rush it.  Now that you are late, you are late.  There is no penalty for being "even more late."  After the 7-day post-due-date grace period for in-person submission of your 90-day, it doesn't matter if you are eight days late or eight months late.  The fine will be the same: 2000 baht.  Don't waste your energy rushing to immigration.  They will make you pay the exact same fine when you renew your visa in April.  Just wait and pay in April at the same time you do your visa extension.

It might be interesting to hear what AI suggested. I don't expect any contact from the member you mentioned.

I will just have to find a free day to get to the Immi office to sort it out. I'll combine it with a bank visit to fix some address issues before my new debit card is issued in a month or so. My nearest bank branch is also hours from my location.

 

In the meantime, I'll try to avoid arrest!

I seriously considered this having read that someone else has claimed he doesn't do reports, just pays the fine with his extension each time.

I'm not sure this is a sustainable solution to the idiotic reporting regime, but interesting.

However, as I've just realized my new bank debit card may not find its way to me, and I can't fix it online, it makes sense to find a day to sort the issues. Lazada and a small angry Thai lady would be very upset if I couldn't access my account.

I've literally never heard of this happening to anyone. No one checks your TM47 status until you are at the immigration office for something.

Amazing, AI came up with pretty well every thought I had on the situation! It even covered the possibility of paying a fine remotely.

I had already decided to put in a late report online, get the refusal and use that to indicate my attempt to comply.

The one big unknown is the attitude of the Immigration individuals making decisions.

Sort of an update on the 90 day online reporting. Until May of this year I had been 5 years without leaving the country and the online system had worked perfectly. 

 

Went out for a month May-June then the first of September went to CW to do my 90 day report in person as I was returning to Thailand on a reentry permit.  

 

When I went to fill out the form online I had to begin again as all my information was gone. Completed it and sent it in 5pm yesterday. I just now got the approval back. 

 

So other than having to go to CW after a trip abroad it does seem to be working fine now.

I have just moved from Chiang mai to Minbure after living in Chiang mai for over 20 years. My question corcerns  90 day reports as i  have just moved  I belive that I must do my 90 day report in person not online. One question  is there a place near minburl to do report or mustI go to the main immigration office,

You will probably need to notify immigration that you have moved. TM30?

On my receipt, it says that I have to file my next 90 day report on February 25th, which is indeed 90 days from the day I've done my first report. I am actually flying to BKK on the 25th and leaving Thailand on the 26th. Do I still need to do the second report? (Despite not staying in Thailand for 180 days or more)

 

It's a small effort to do the next report online though or go to the drive through here in CM, before the 25th. Anyway, next time I will make sure to do my calculations better. I assumed the next report would be due after an actual 180 days in the country, even when reporting early.

You can do it up to fifteen days early, all reports are due at 90 day interval's

No, with leaving Thailand your clock for 90 Days Report has stopped. Will start again with zero once you return to Thailand.

However, apparently the report is due 25 February, but I am leaving the day after. I know you can be up to a week late, but what happens if I come back to Thailand without having done the report at all?

For anyone who's done in-person reporting at Chaengwattana recently (for example first time or re-entry), did you have any documentation requests besides those listed on their website?

 

"1. Passport, 2. departure card (TM.6) (if any), 3. Previous notifications of staying over 90 days, 4. Completely filled in the notification form (TM.47)"

 

I'll bring those four things. I wasn't sure if they want a copy of the TM.6 so I had one made anyway, and am bringing a copy of the online TM.30 submission confirmation I received. Passport they only need to look at, correct? No copies needed?

 

I didn't print the appointment confirmation, but have that on my phone so hopefully that will be enough, they only need to see it?

 

(It's a long trip I don't want to make twice, at least not for this requirement.)

You will need a hard copy of appointment this can be obtained on level 1 photo copy desk
