Bangkok Business News reported at the weekend that a senior official of the Thai Public Health Ministry admitted that the much vaunted target of 100 million vaccinations by Sunday - December 5th Father's Day in in Thailand - would not be met.

A huge drive had been made over the closing days to meet the number.

Dr Kiatphoom Wongjarit said that 93 million on Saturday and an anticipated 94 million Sunday was still a good effort.

Pressed by the media if people would be forced to have vaccinations in Thailand Dr Kiatphoom stressed that was not the case.

Having a vaccination remained a matter of volunteering.

But he said that everyone should get a jab for the benefit of their own health and that of the entire community.

He said that a wide variety of platforms and options to get vaccinated are now available and people can choose the vaccine and avenue according to what is available.

It's been in the news several times about how to apply and walk-ins for resident foreigners; however, you need to check locally what's offered and when in the area where you stay...????

Yes, currently nobody in Thailand is forced to get vaccinated, also foreigners not.

You can choose from what is available...

I used to hear that every day in the school line-up for lunch.
