Is Bangkok back to normal (regarding UK passport renewal)

Featured Replies

So, I have to renew my UK passport pretty soon, which means a trip to Bangkok from Surat Thani.  On balance, I prefer not give my passport to an agent for any length of time.

I'm just checking to see if things have returned to normal, regarding offices/malls open, public transport, hotels open, etc.

Yes most things are open, not really sure about bars, malls are open as are restaurants/ hotels, you can get some great deals, there might be some alcohol restrictions  in certain parts of Bangkok

I caught up with couple friends Soi 4 last this Tuesday Stumble Inn bar.

Was surprised how busy it was.

The bars in that street shut at 11pm sharp.

Our local restaurant/bar with live music the same.

New food/fashion joint just opened in Rama 9 named Jood Fair pretty full on.

Cheers, seems appropriate????

I'm really more interested in confirming all the essentials are working normally- offices/public transport/and in my case hotels.

All of that up and running.

You most likely have your vaccination records. If you flying domestic ST to Bkk then of course good to have.

As far as entering various places nothing required.

CW apparently was requiring some proof of vaccination status, however think there was alternative. Doubt you would be going there. Embassies might have requirement.
