webfact
Picture: Thai Rath Police in the sleepy holiday town of Cha-Am in Phetchaburi have arrested a 15 year old boy after he battered a 12 year old friend to death in a building near the beach with a hammer. The deceased was a peanut and betel nut seller on the beach. Police managed to make an arrest after the suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle. He drew a gun that turned out to be fake. His elder brother has spoken of his surprise as his sibling was a quiet boy but with an addiction to violent video games. On Tuesday Cha-Am police were called to Soi Nantachai to a three story building between Soi Cha-Am South 1 and 2. On the second floor they discovered the badly battered body of a 12 year old boy on a bed in a room on the second floor. There were many head wounds and a lot of blood spatter. They were soon told that the assailant was a 15 year old boy who had fled on a Skoopy-i motorcycle. He was discovered walking along the beach in the Cha-Am north area. He drew a gun and pointed it at his chin but it proved to be a fake weapon. Police managed to charge and take him into custody. He was largely incoherent and in a confused state but managed to say that the other boy had made him angry. The mother of the 12 year old said that the two boys frequently played together. Her son had gone out at 10.30 pm the previous evening on a motorcycle. Worried when he didn't return, she phoned him and heard an argument. A friend of the mother told Thai Rath that her mother had given the boy some money to go to 7-Eleven but he had not come home. She had contacted her at 4 am to try and call her son and she heard the signs of trouble. It was also reported that two other boys who were at the scene of the murder were chased by the assailant but managed to get away before he returned upstairs to continue his assault. The elder brother of the deceased boy said that he was shocked as his brother was a quiet guy. He denied that he did drugs but said that he was completely addicted to violent video war games. Cha-Am police are working with social services due to the age of the assailant. Allowing your 12 year old son to work on the beach, and go out at 10:30 in the evening on a m/c. What could possibly go wrong? IMHO the problem isn't the games. The problem is the parents. I tend to agree ..... if the parents were responsible decent parents the kid wouldn't be addicted to violent video games in the first place as he'd be out playing sport or studying, and as mentioned he wouldn't be allowed out on a motorbike at 10.30pm that's for sure. Many thai parents are not proper parents at all ......
Popular Post Cake Monster
Is it me ? or is there a real problem within Thai Society as a whole. Maybe I just led a sheltered life, and have just not come across such violence before.

ronster
Parenting to blame or lack of it I would say . Lets them go out at 10.30pm and waits till 4am before deciding to call about it to see where he is when doesn’t return. Played violent video games all my life for 30 years and no interest or inkling to shoot someone or bash someone’s head in .

I am totally at a loss to understand why 90+% of video games involve killing as many others as possible. It makes killing a pleasure, something to take pride in and boast about. Killing is exciting to them. It's a worldwide thing and says a great deal about how the human race is still so primitive. Most are able to separate games from the real world, but there must be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, around the world who really are not that bright and see a blurred picture. 3

These things don't make "normal" people turn violent. Some people have other problems and its an easy thing to blame stuff on. https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-ap-top-news-games-tx-state-wire-shootings-45309e99d09e438a8b5f329f73ac7850 No real connection found in scientific studies. But yea it pops up once in a while easy thing to blame instead of stating that there is something wrong with the person. If video games were so bad you would have seen this far more regularly and it does not. Its just a way to shift blame. Unlike with alcohol a link between violence has never been proven. You haven't obtained 'The Sword of Ashkeron' yet from the Demon Witch-King of the Shadowlands. When you do you'll be playing on a whole new level. Poor kid probably wasn't wearing The Ring of Invincibility.
