Thong Lo police were pictured with a food delivery staffer who they arrested for snatch theft from a Filipina tourist.

The female tourist had her shoulder bag containing 1,500 baht, an iPhone, credit card and room key snatched as she walked in front of a hotel in the middle of Sukhumvit Road Soi 20 at 2.15 am on December 14th.

CCTV helped in tracing Prawut Yoosorn, 33, to Flat 18 in the Klong Toei projects.

He said he was a food delivery guy and it was a spur of the moment thing. He took the money and valuables then tossed the bag.

Police dismissed the idea that this was a one off event as nonsense - he had a rap sheet for similar crime and had been released from prison a year earlier, reported Manager

They suspect he has been involved in a number of thefts and requested other police jurisdictions to get in touch to clear up cases.

A Filipina tourist walking on Soi 20 at 2:15 am?  kind of odd.  Especially if she might have been walking alone.

Was she out to make some pocket money, perhaps?

I don't think she intended to be alone for long.

Her bag contained 1,500 baht. The deed had already been done.

because its a street and area renowned for filipino hookers and it happened at 20am. not saying she is a hooker, but chances are likely.

So, does being a Phillipina hooker mean that you're fair game for any thieving scumbag that chooses to rob them? No, of course not.

Whatever she had done during the evening is irrelevant. We should all be able to walk home without the threat of being robbed.

Well done police for the quick arrest.

What?  You said that it was "odd" that she was there at that time but if the street is so renowned for that activity and she is a Filipina what makes it "odd"?!   And, what if she is a prostitute, how does that affect the fact that she was a victim of a robbery?
