Massive Fire at Plastic Factory in Chachoengsao
Picture from responders. A large-scale fire has broken out at a plastic manufacturing and paper storage facility in Phanom Sarakham district, Chachoengsao province, with emergency services still unable to bring the situation under control. The blaze reportedly began at around 13:40 on 29 April, in a warehouse located in Ko Khanun subdistrict, near a Bangchak petrol station on Route 304, shortly before the Nanai intersection. The facility housed newly manufactured plastic containers and large quantities of paper. Eyewitnesses described towering flames piercing through the warehouse roof, accompanied by thick, black smoke visible from a distance. The fire spread rapidly due to the highly flammable materials stored inside. Local fire and disaster prevention units rushed to the scene and deployed multiple fire engines in an attempt to contain the blaze. However, their efforts have so far been unsuccessful, prompting requests for reinforcements from nearby districts. There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities as of yet, and the cause of the fire will be investigated once the fire is contained. Adapted by Asean Now from Khoasod 2025-04-29. -

For reference, just over a week ago I flew from Siem Reap to Bangkok (DMK) and onwards to Khon Kaen. Because I was in a wheelchair, and to avoid all the long queues at the Immigration desks in International Arrivals, I was wheeled to the Diplomatic/VIP desk where a charming, efficient and friendly young Thai lady processed my passport and gave me 60 days entry into Thailand. Within a couple of minutes I was being wheeled to the baggage collection hall. No trouble from this Thai Immigration lady. -

Crime Eccentric Neighbour Arrested for 7 Years of Harassing Neighbours & Public Indecency
One of my neighbors is like that,always looking for trouble for as long as i have lived here. Screaming at us,encouraging his dogs to bark at us and pulling plants out of our garden. Two years ago it got really bad and he started to accuse me of doing illegal things. within 2 months he called the police 3 or 4 times,each time accusing us of doing something . The last two times we had to go to the local police station to get things sorted but he kept saying we were the wrong doers. The last time was about a year ago and we had to go to the police again! After hearing him rant and rave for about an hour all was solved. Now he does not even look at me anymore,ok the dogs still bark but i can deal with that. -

Interesting. A neighbour of ours has just invested heavily in a large fertiliser drone for the sugarcane fields......hope he hasn't been shafted by any of this. -

I didn't t read the article, but I've read enough of them lately. What it boils down to is that I never click on any links I receive in an email for any reason. If I want to check my account or whatever, I know how to do that. -

Well said, spot on! All their acting by immigration — surely they realize when there are more immigration officers than foreigners entering the country? Maybe they're just trying to justify their jobs. They’ll be in trouble if automated entry gates like in Malaysia get introduced, lol. I don't think they bother flipping through passport pages, doing interviews, checking for 20,000 baht, or verifying accommodation when it’s "Safe Entry" — meaning immigration handled through agents.
