Does anyone know how much it costs to ship a car from the west coast of the US to Thailand? Are there any fees Thailand will charge to bring a car into Thailand? Any other info would be appreciated.

I found the thread discussing how duty and tax will kill you. Thanks for the info.

Please tell me how soliciting advice is "sticking your head in the sand"? It seems to me that it would be the exact opposite. Thanks for your help anyway.

I think you are mis-reading the intention of the post, it means (to my reading of it anyway) "if you ignore the advice you are sticking your head in the sand and will regret it" :D

BTW I go along with everyone else, just don't bother, buy a car here. Used vehicles hold their value well, we had an old BMW 325i for nearly three years, got almost what we paid for it when we sold :D

My 2003 Ford ranger in 2004 Shipped out of Hawaii was only $18,000 out the door & the duty was going to be $23,700.00 U.S. +shipping. Unless you are truely in love with your ride. sell it & get a new one here or used. IT WILL COST FAR LESS!
