I haven't used it for pain relief but 'they' say it can be similar to mild opioid medicine without the addictive properties. It's also a natural leaf not a manufactured chemical so it couldn't/shouldn't hurt to try it and see if it works for you.

 

Can chew and swallow raw leaf. Can boil it and drink the 'soup'. Can tear up the leaves into a cup and pour on boiling water just like tea. Chew and swallow the leaves after you've drunk the tea. Can add honey and/or lemon to taste.

 

Red vein is better/stronger than white vein.

 

Be aware that as a natural product strength and/or efficacy can vary from leaf to leaf just as one lettuce or tomato may taste better than another.
