Does your wife need to join you at immigration (Chaeng Watthana) when you apply for your 1 year visa extension based on marriage? I have signed copies of her ID card and tabien baan. 

 

Also, do they need to see her ID card or passport or tabien baan in original as well?

Yes mate.

 

You wife has to be with you to apply for a one year extension of stay (it not a visa) based upon marriage.

She has to complete and sign a statement in front of a immigration officer.

Best to have your original marriage certificate with you , you wife's ID and house book if it the owner of the house if immigration asks to see them.

Why?

That post was about one person's experience at a immigration office. Most of the other posts in it were mostly hearsay.

Thought someone's recent experience might help, stuff like the blue ink instead of black ink etc.. Is that wrong? He doesn't have to read it if he doesn't want to, just trying to help.

Your wife is also interviewed by an IO with questions like

1. How many siblings does she have
2. How did the two of you meet
3. How long are you together?

So yes, she needs to be there

Yes your wife has to be there.

No big deal and quite an easy process.
