The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is aiming for tourism business operators in Pattaya to perform a roadshow during upcoming ministers’ visits to Saudi Arabia to promote tourism and strengthen relations between the two countries, following the Prime Minister’s agenda.

TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn revealed during a major meeting with local entrepreneurs group “One Voice” in Pattaya yesterday that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha and the Cabinet committee were preparing to travel to Saudi Arabia to tighten a good relationship between the two countries.

TAT officials were also scheduled to travel with the group, according to the Prime Minister’s plan. Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn would also set a schedule for a visit as soon as possible. The government believed that the visit would result in a positive response to the tourism industry.

I'm sure the "pretties" will keep them occupied.

with or without pingpong balls?

Pattaya meets Saudi Arabia, an interesting clash of cultures.  ????

So the TAT is taking a troupe of Thai hookers to Saudi Arabia on a road show?  Sounds like that old proverb  (and I mean no disrespect) "If Mohammed cannot go to the mountain, then the mountain shall come to Mohammed",

Will they be invited to a public flogging or beheading when they are over there?

I doubt that.

But they might be invited to watch the amputation of a thiefs hand - just in case...

One can only imagine the video presentation the Pattaya tourism operators will give the Saudis. "Look, here is our Walking Street, very family friendly. See, no cars!". "And you can take a walk along the seaside on our Beach Rd in the evening. See how our Thai ladies there offer the friendly greetings to the foreigners!"

Cheaper to just send a video of a car slowly making its way down soi 6 with a camera poking through the widow.

I think they have been coming here for years flying in via Dubai and Bahrain. Usually rather large men taking up one and a half seats on the plane.

I used to drink with the Saudi chargé d'affaires down Sukhumvit Soi 22 and around Washington Square in Bangkok during the early 00's.

Wow!

The  Saudis love Thailand and will need little encouragement to come though I suppose promoting the Pattaya  Lady Boy shows can do no harm. The will live this news. The lads of Abha have more in common with Issan lasses than any farang.
