‘Scaled-down’ Cobra Gold exercises to be held from February 22 to March 4

This year, the Cobra Gold military exercise will be held between February 22nd and March 4th and will be somewhat scaled down again, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according a Thai military source.

 

The source, who asked not to be identified, said that despite being a “heavy year”, the region’s largest annual military exercise, involving the US and its allies and friends, will be limited and will involve fewer military personnel than originally planned. The annual exercise alternates between “light” and “heavy” years, with varying numbers of troops and programmes of activities.

 

This time fewer than 2,000 international troops will participate. Last year, only 600 from the US took part. In normal years, the exercise sees more than 10,000 troops taking part. There will be no live fire demonstrations, amphibious landings or assaults.

So they arecallowing infectious Yanks to enter just to play war games. Japan has 85000 new cases acday because American bases did not follow Covid regulations and yet Thailand cooses to ignore this. The words 'military: and 'intelligence' obviously should not be used in the same sentence.

Apart from the Coronaphobia by Anutin and his cronies we will see, what Pattaya's nightlife gurus have to say to all this and the (presently verbal) war of the rhetoric titans will go. 

It could be possible that there will be many branches of MagTonaldsAgoGo and KFC-Kum-Find-<deleted> "eat"eries popping up all over town to comply with the present rule of no bars, restaurants only.

Scaling down is not due to covid, it's just everyone is getting dispatched to see Putin in Ukraine!

People in the US military are required to be vaccinated, and they will follow agreed upon rules for preventing infections.

It was announced earlier this week that members of the US military that refuse to take the vaccine will be removed from the military. Problem solved!

The US military is just as concern with covid-19 brought on board. There will be very straight protocul and rules for R&R and I hope the Thai government will reciprocrate accordingly.
