Entry via TEST & GO??

Featured Replies

Hi,

A Thai friend just mailed - possibly a new policy this month has been announced - TEST & GO.

Have they got this correct??

Does this mean we can now fly into Bangkok for example clutching our Double Jabbed and Negative Test Certificates and not be Rugby Tackled to the ground etc, etc??

Is there a TEST as referred to also at the Thai end?

I dont think this is real.Anyway malaysia migth fully open for vaccinated touriss from 1st of march.

Just need a negative PCR-test before arrival and departing.

How new? The current Test&Go was announced a couple of weeks back, but you could only apply from 1st Feb.

Fully vaxed, PCR before flight, mandatory insurance (that no longer covers most situations). Quarantine in a hotel first night and have another PCR. Then free to do as you please for a few days, before going back to a hotel for quarantine on night 5 and another PCR test. If everything is negative, you're fine. If you test positive (even if you are asymptomatic) or if you sit next to someone on the plane who tests positive, then off to quarantine you go in a hospital/tel.

Everything has to be booked and paid in advance, and then you can apply for the Thai Pass to actually be allowed in. Allow at least 7 working days for that.

Well I have great memories of my 10 years there - perhaps time to leave it at that.

Thnxs for reply.

When departing thailand, need to check with airline what type test needed for their flight to wherever you are going?

fir example, one can have an antigen or PCR test for usa entry but must occur on the previous day of departure not the 72 hours that thailand affords

i am getting an antigen test b/c lab turnaround time is much quicker and cheaper….
