Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has given the greenlight to an agreement on an air “travel bubble” scheme between Thailand and India, so passenger services can resume after their suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision is, however, pending a cabinet approval.

CCSA Spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin said today (Friday) that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed relevant agencies to speed up the promotion of tourism and economic development in Thailand.

Currently, only cargo flights and those under “travel bubble” arrangements are allowed into India. On January 19th, India extended its international commercial passenger flight ban to the end of February.

You can enforce whatever you want but Indians are cost sensitive, they arent paying thousands of baths for the privileges to enter Thailand. On other news, you can enter India with just proof of double vaccination, no pre covid test or quarantine required , and they arent a tourist depending economy!

Get a clue Thailand!!

I have no doubt that Thailand's idea of "travel bubble" will be very different to other countries interpretation of it.

Just like Thailand's quarantine free entry includes the day 1 and day 5 testing bonus with the prize being an escorted trip to a chosen incarceration centre.

Then it's pay up for your care and hope that your insurer covers the cost.

I would remind readers that as omicron is on the increase in Thailand, day 1 to day 5 self isolation might be a good idea.

What fun.

A shallow disguise for wanting to restart passenger air services into India to lure more tourists here. India gets nothing from it.

So Thier travel bubble, means that India still has to stick to the quarantine rules, that's not a travel bubble. With only around 55k arrivals in 10 days and half that for test and go, they will surely be getting desperate!

Today 182 tourists tested positive, that's a lucrative hotel jail for 10 to 14 days, No thanks. ????

I dont understand what would be extreme necessity for these 183 poor folks to take this big financial risk?? Thai govt even changed rule for insurance to not pay for asymptomatic or some weird rules for even symptomatic people. Its financial suicide till they relax rules for arrival.

But they should shower at least once a day.

I thought I registered the other day that they were trying to do something with China and with China’s strict entry into the country I really don’t think that would ever happen Lol TIT

Day 1 and day 5 testing is like playing Russian roulette with 2 bullets in the chamber. <deleted> who wants that on a 2-3 week holiday?

Thailand seems to be very picky who they open-up to... considering they're screwed without tourism.

Just what we need.

Russians out.

Indians in.

Chinese next...

And you know it makes sense...the 1.4billion Chinese are locked in their country leaving 1.3billion brothers from the sub continent as the next out of the starting gates.

What a lot nonsense travel bubble means unrestricted travel between countries is this another scam which is really not in the best interests of Tourism It will just harm Thailand's reputation which is already in deep trouble with test and go scams.

Sorry to tell you, but India has a middle class, too. And many like Thailand.

Of course the destination country (Thailand) gets something from it. That's what tourism is all about.

My former home country gets nothing from me. And I'm not a tourist, I live here where Western women never wanted me to go.

Thailand has no clue what other countries doing, and doesn't care.

It's amazing how many foreigners live in Thailand and can't spell the name of the currency. It really isn't that hard. It's only four letters.

And droves of Indians WONT come until Nightlife opens up.

And if the target is only high end ones, there are limited number of that category that would come to Thailand. most of them head west.
