Browsing through the various Lazada pages I've noticed some references to "Charcoal Batteries"

What are they and what advantage are they over normal batteries?

Google wasn't much help

So what are they and what are the benefits on not of these batteries?

Cheers.

Looks like it would work for an elementary school science class of you didn't have a potato handy....

I ❤️ potato batteries!  I was a science geek as a kid.

I just Googled charcoal batteries, try again, I did it on my phone as I'm busy on my tablet, plenty of info on there.

Me to. Got lots of "how to make your own" but no real information of the advantage / disadvantage of using charcoal batteries and why they started to appear for sale recently.

Anyway not in the first couple of pages in my Google search.

Some Examples:-

To me that looks like the most ordinary Alkaline-Mangan batteries that you find at every cash checkout in a Thai supermarket, mom&pop shop and a trillion other spots.

Until the 1970 a "zinc carbon" battery existed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc–carbon_battery

But this is long gone and vanished.

To me this "charcoal" sounds like one of the most silly examples of a failed (Google) translation.

If am proofed wrong I'll take it with countenance.

Maybe someone found a lump of mangan and found it looks like a piece of grandma's charcoal
