Is Booster Needed?

Featured Replies

Had Sinovac then Astraxenic. Last one was 4 months ago. I've paid for Moderna but don't know if I need it as the pandemic is coming to an end, so I heard.

Would you go ahead and take it? I am 56, and healthy. Plan to go to the UK in 5 months.

There is no harm in taking another vaccine and maintaining protection.

There remains a potential for the virus to evolve again - of course, everyone hopes the next variant is even less harmful, however, there remains the possibility of antigenic drift to a more serious variant.

While not panicking or being scared (as some are of course going to want to interpret from my comments), it makes sense to maintain an intelligent vigilance.

For these reasons we have just vaccinated our son with one of the first available ‘child Pfizer’ vaccines in Thailand.

I suggest you get the booster.

I am aware of a Thai that got infected with covid 19 after the getting the same covid vaccine combination you did and was not due for the booster yet. It must of been omnicron since they were able to do the isolation at home since it was just a sore throat and fever.

I was in close contact with them and did not get it after getting 2 Pfizer shots and not due a booster yet.

If you had 1 Sinovac then 1 AZ, and more than 3 months have past since the second shot, a booster with an mRNA vaccine is recommended.

Protection levels have been shown to drop off with time. Ads for the pandemic coming to an end...Thailand is seeing escalating numbers and I don't think Omicron has peaked here yet.

Unless you are in an at-risk group for serious reactions then a booster cannot do any harm. I would go for it.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

How about if you are double vaccinated (AZ) and already had mild covid?

I paid for Moderna jabs too. I took one of them a week ago as a booster to my 2x AstraZeneca shots. Beyond a sore arm and a slight headache it was fine. The pandemic is only coming to end until it isn't, might as well get yourself boosted.

I know about 10 that got it but had no serious symptoms, but they were all younger than I.

Which Dr in which bar told you that... or was it ex special forces ?   :whistling:

No. Not the 1st, not the 2nd and certainly not the booster. But i do understand that if you realy have to fly that your forced to.

Those of us who had Pfizer vaccinations from the Thai Government program are now approaching 6 months since our second shot.

Across Thailand local public health centers are offering boosters as a walk-in.

I’ll be getting my booster as soon as my six month has past.

The virus isn’t going away, it’s still here and it’s going to be with us for ever.

Fauci “But if you are a normal, healthy 30-year-old person with no underlying conditions, you might need a booster only every four or five years.”

Does anyone really know.

1 month, so I have 2 shots and natural immunity, just wondering if a booster at this stage is really needed?

Good luck with that.
