Incorrect time display AIS

Featured Replies

I can usually rely on the time displayed on my smartphone but recently the time has been displaying 3 minutes late. My SIM card is supplied by AIS. Can anybody explain why I might be having this problem, or is everybody having the same issue? For instance, right now my phone is displaying 10:30 but my laptop is displaying 10:33. Google (on my phone) gives 10:33 as the time in Thailand. Regards, thoengthaied.

Only here can a phone company, taking time checks from a satellite, get the time screwed up, priceless.  Actually, in terms of relative time, Thailand is at least 30 years behind the West in technological terms, so you're lucky its only 3 minutes.

I jest, its probably a phone issue.

Could be the UI or Widget on your phone, assume you have it set to Automatic: Settings, System, Date & Time.

What's the phone make and model? Are you using a Widget?

Is this a new discrepancy?

My phone is a Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro Zoom. I don't know if I'm using a widget or not! I'm not tech savvy. I first noticed this discrepancy about a week ago.

When I first posted I turned off "use network provided time". I have just turned it on again and hey presto the time has re adjusted to display correctly. So all seems good again. Thanks for your help, mtls2005 and Doctor Tom. Till next time!

My computer on 3BB, one mobile on DTAC and the other mobile with a UK SIM roaming on AIS all show exactly the same time.

I feel I am being cheated here. Who should I complain to?

No. Just checked and the deviation is less than a second (as good as visual compare allows to see).

Phone lags behind a fraction.

I  compared with this site:

https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zone/thailand/bangkok

To be sure I use a GPS test tool on the phone and this website is exact to the what visual compare can verify.

(GPS Test by  ChartCross Limited, quite feature rich)

why should I get excited about thoughtless babble.

Maybe my phone shows exact time because I do the unthinkable: switch it off every night.

What a privilege

Oh! The heresy of it all!
