Vietnam calls for dialogue, protection of civilians in Ukraine

Vietnam called for restraint and the resumption of dialogue between Russia and Ukraine, and emphasized the need to safeguard civilians at an emergency special session of the U.N. General Assembly.

 

Speaking at the session Tuesday the head of its Permanent Mission to the U.N., Dang Hoang Giang, also expressed deep concern at the situation in Ukraine and called for an end to the use of force and for making efforts for a lasting solution, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

 

Welcoming the dialogue between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations on February 28, he hoped they would continue toward achieving a peaceful resolution.
