Just today someone posted on FB how they got pulled over at a BiB motorbike stop and got a ticket for not carrying a copy of the green book. Is this the actual law or just a shakedown?

I haven't seen any police stops on the roads for 2 years.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Yes needed, my friend forgot his bike document pack once and when stopped he had nothing, they fined him for every piece separately, licence, tax, copy of green book, insurance ... , he emptied his pocket and they took all the cash he had on him and then let him go - they said they gave him a discount...! ? Not sure exactly but he had like a 1000 baht I think...

Which pages of the green book do they need ? 4, 5, 16 or more ?

I think the first page that has the bike detail is needed ...

Why do ignorant foreigners think they are above the law and that the law is a scam. Do they think they are superior to Thais?

Whats with your attitude against foreigners you seem to have a problem?! I won't answer your problem it may get you worked up!

Anyway disregarding that dont know any Thais who keep green book in bike

You get bike nicked thief has green book as well now thats clever!

I always keep copy of insurance and green book in bike. Carry licence always too along with copy of passport, visa and entry stamp.

Recent I bought and hid a Galaxy Smart Tag on the bike as a theft security measure. Extremely accurate location tracking as there are so many Samsung phone users here to locate/ping it. Battery life at least 6 months. An Apple Air Tag would likely work too.
