tonray
You likely will be happier taking the BTS/MRT instead of GRAB for most journeys to beat the hellish traffic. Certainly there is a plethora of info on Bangkok tourism available..Thai wife would most like to see Temples ? and then maybe some wallet breaking shopping at opulent mega Mall ? Don't forget to take the river boats for the true experience.

Popular Post lujanit
For a Thai an evening river dinner cruise is worthwhile. The commentary is usually in Thai. There are many cruises. One we have used starts from the Riverside Hotel, yet there are many companies doing the same. Buffet or a la carte, your choice. Just search Bangkok riverside cruises.
Pmbkk
Asiatique on the riverfront up-scale market stalls and restaurants. JJ/Chatuchak for the market. Silom/Lumpini Sukhumvit from around Nana, sois up to and around Terminal 21. Obv' the large number of very large shopping centers. As someone else said in the center, public transport is best during the day.

I would suggest finding out what she wants to do there and looking at it form there. River cruise dinner is always nice

Great views and next to ICON SIAM. Great buffet breakfast. ICON has a pier with river cruises that looked very nice and popular. China Town is fun to explore. One or two things is enough then relax by the pool with city and river views. Grab taxis are cheap to get around. Hilton is on the new Sky Train route. Whatever you do, enjoy yourself! Muhendis
I thought someone would have mentioned MBK before me. There is always the national museum at Pipittapan The royal barge storage and the floating market.

Agree especially Chinatown, for my extended Thai family (all Thai heredity) from Essan, Nth, Central Nth etc, Chinatown is a dream must see, and buy a few Chinese food, medicine, herb etc., products, mostly not expensive.

BusyB
A trip on the Saen Saeb canalboat is also a hoot - I see they're electric and silent now as well - and a great way to get from Sukkhy to the palace etc. or vice versa ...
Happy Howard
We recently stayed at the Novotel Platonum. Next door to Platinum Plaza, five floors of inexpensive, good quality clothing. 5 minutes walk to Central World via elevated walkways.
bbko
My Thai wife would be happy to spend an afternoon at JJ market, then a nice dinner at an upscale restaurant. Shopping & food, a lady's dream day.

josephbloggs
Khlong Ong Ang is really nice, especially Friday - Sunday when it is a walking street. Lots of food, stalls, drinks, and a really cool vibe. Easy to get to as there is an MRT station just a couple of minutes walk away. Highly recommended. It even got a UN award for the restoration.https://www.tatnews.org/2021/03/award-winning-khlong-ong-ang-walking-street-isnt-your-average-walking-street/ Edited March 27, 2022 by josephbloggs
