Why the quote marks around “broadcasting problems”? Is this suggesting that something nefarious was going on?

The signal disruption occurred when Channel 5, owned by the Royal Thai Army, was reporting about the war and political tension between Russia and Ukraine on the afternoon of Monday.

Must have been a freak weather phenomena?

Disruption whilst reporting on the Ukraine conflict and then the news team was withdrawn?

Sounds more like the disruption was deliberate because the news team were reporting something they shouldn't have then the news team was taken out of circulation.

30+years in Thailand and I've never seen anyone watching ch5. I've only caught sight of it when flicking through the channels when looking to see if a particular sport event was being broadcast by someone.

31 years now, I mostly agree. The only ones I've seen watching ch5 are military personnel and families / relatives and some farmers. But there are 2 noticable exceptions: Ch5 was IMO good (the best?) during both the Tsunami and the flooding.

Shouldn't the apologies be directed towards the ideals that traditional military power controls much of the establishment media?

Are we missing something or what?
