Popular Post webfact Posted April 7, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 7, 2022 Daily News Thai Caption: Near miss! Daily News went to investigate after a company employee called Phanuwat went on social media to describe what happened to him on Monday evening. Phanuwat, 32, was driving along in the Soi Klong Thanaon Bang Yai area of Nonthaburi when he saw what looked like a tree or trunk ahead in the gloom. He slowed down and realised it was a woman. She was praying and lying in the middle of the road. He wound down his window a little. He could hear crying. He lit the surreal scene with his headlights so she wouldn't be run over by traffic coming up behind. She was still praying up and down and crying but he said something to her. Soon other vehicles arrived and he left them to it. The police later told Daily News that the woman and her husband had had a domestic dispute after getting paralytically drunk. The cops saw the lady home to bed. Nah, just someone who will say that alcohol makes people do stupid / dangerous things. If that guy had hit her with his car he would be in serious trouble. 2

Not everyone takes it to these extremes. As far as i can remember i done stupid stuff.. but nothing that endangered my life or that of others. Normally i just fall asleep after drinking to much 1
Bangkok Barry Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Anyone who prays to some mysterious, fictional and invisible deity is bonkers anyway. She just made it a little obvious. 2
RobU Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 A similar incident happened in my home town in England many years ago. Two young men got absolutely ratassed and decided to lie down in th middle of the road. A bus driver failed to see them and ran over them. The bus driver was charged with dangerous driving and had his licence revoked. Fortunately the driver was retained by his company in a non driving role at the same pay until he had his licence restored. Anybody could have run over them and like this idiot woman they were not easily seen. Pime candidates for the 'Darwin Award' (i.e. so stupid that their extinction and lack of progeny would be a boon to humanity)

Oh, hi we are the police. No problem, we will take you home, tuck you in and wait patiently for your next session and spat of madness. You know, we are far too busy kidnapping people for ransom, putting plastic bags on and killing sespects. 1
Thunglom Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Why is this a "hazard of Thai driving?" - it could happen any country, anywhere - it's a mental health problem most likely but trying to suggest it is typical of te hazards fdrivingin Thailand is just pathetic. 1
